Kabaddi is an Indian game. It was included in Asian games in 1990 and since then India has been continuously winning gold medal for Kabaddi in Asian games. Growing enthusiasm of the international viewers as well as the growing media attention, the winner country gets, has enhanced the prestige attached to Kabaddi. It is noteworthy that physical fitness and physiological capacities of the players of any sport play a paramount role in determining their performance. Enormous work has been done in analyzing these parameters for the players of games like athletics, football, tennis etc., but thorough study of these parameters for Kabaddi players was not available in literature. The book is a result of a humble attempt by the author to fulfill the need of thorough research and database on physical fitness and physiological capacities of international Kabaddi players so that their training can be properly focused on weak areas. This work elaborates the various physical and physiological attributes important for Kabaddi players, how these parameters can be tested and compared.
