for SSAA and piano
This arrangement of Huron Carol, renamed Iesous ahatonnia' to reflect its origins, sets new texts by Wendat poet Andrée Levesque Sioui and invites us to learn from the past while working to shape a better future. It may be sung in English and Wendat or French and Wendat, and Dr Gallant's foreword presents the carol's history.

for SSAA and piano
Quartel's arrangement of the Huron Carol, renamed Iesous ahatonnia' to reflect its origins, sets new texts by Wendat poet Andrée Levesque Sioui and invites choirs and audiences to learn from the past while working to shape a better future. The piece may be performed either in English and Wendat or in French and Wendat, and definitions and contextual information for the Wendat terms are provided, alongside an IPA guide by Elizabeth Brodovitch. A fascinating foreword by ethnomusicologist Dr Jeanette Gallant presents a history of the carol, and it is hoped that this publication will be the definitive edition for choirs wishing to perform this familiar melody in a way that honours Wendat voices.
