As such, it brings together material which is conventionally dealt with by several books. Therefore, the book integrates basic science and clinical medicine in a very novel way. The clinical setting is further emphasized by the inclusion of detailed case studies at the end of each section. These are written in non-technical language so that the preclinical student and biomedical science student will be able to understand the underlying principles.
