The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2017 marks the beginning of a regular monitoring of progress towards achieving the global food security and nutrition targets set by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The thematic analysis in this year&&&8217;s edition explores the two-way relationship between conflict and food security, namely how deterioration in food security conditions can form a source of conflict, whereas measures to improve food security can contribute to peace and conflict prevention. An expanded version of what used to be the State of Food Security in the World, the report now covers all countries and regions of the world. And, for the first time, WHO and UNICEF have joined FAO, IFAD and WFP as partners on the report, enabling a more comprehensive analysis of the linkages between food insecurity and malnutrition.
